Falls Festival Lorne: Day 1

Were you spotted by Stylizen? The best dressed and more from Day 1

After an early rise at 4.30am, a picturesque drive along the Great Ocean Road, and a long wait along the windy roads leading into the festival grounds, by 2pm we had finally made it. Falls Festival 2013, we were ready for you.

Thousands of tents dotted the green hills of the camping grounds where festival goers were preparing themselves for three days of great music, arts and fun. Once the challenge of setting up camp had been conquered (note to self – it always helps when you have a tent complete with pegs and a waterproof cover!) we wandered over to the main site to do some exploring. Full of food and market stalls, the view was dominated by the Valley Stage, with a huge sloping hill acting as seats or dance floor, depending on the time of day!

With the sunshine beating down on our soon to be burnt necks, we kicked off the afternoon to the sounds of young English crooner Tom Odell. We danced the night away to Solange, Flight Facilities and MGMT, but the definite standout of the day (and festival!) were English electro/trip hop band London Grammar. Despite only releasing their debut album ‘If You Wait’ in September, they drew a huge crowd – the atmosphere was absolutely electric as everyone sang along and danced to every song.

While we were enjoying the great music, the fashion certainly didn’t escape our notice! It was a mix of earthy neutrals and bursts of colour at Day 1 of Falls, with flower crowns and stylish sunglasses stealing the accessories show.
