Festival Fashion Made Easy

Nothing says summer better than festivals. Great music, good company, cold drinks and an increasing number of gourmet food trucks make music festivals a must on your holiday to-do list. Whether you’re a festival fanatic or a first timer, a must-be-in-the-mosh-er or a sit-back-and-watch-from-afar-er, the diverse range of festivals on offer means there really is something for everyone.
When you’ve successfully got your tickets and worked out a schedule for the day, the only thing left to worry about is what to wear or what to pack if the festival is spread over a few days. The good news is that unlike camping trips of old, practicality doesn’t have to trump style. With the right pieces and preparation, festival dressing really can be fabulous.
The best thing about dressing for festivals is the casual and often “hippy” vibe, so in the spirit of the event, don’t fight it – embrace it! Denim cut offs are a festival staple and look great paired with a coloured crop and flowing kimono. A felt hat, cross body bag and a pair of sneakers are pieces that are practical and look great, while a dainty body chain makes for the perfect finishing touch.
Alternatively make dressing even easier with a boho style playsuit and denim jacket combination. Thongs are a no-go for festivals but sandals like Birkenstock’s strike the perfect balance between comfort, practicality and style. Festivals are also a great time to celebrate the return of the bumbag – go all out and choose a loud print to really make a statement. When it comes to jewellery, an arm cuff is a great piece to wear and you won’t have to worry about losing it in the crowd!
